Stone staircases are a defining architectural element — the first thing visitors see in a hotel lobby, the centerpiece of a residential entrance hall, and a critical safety feature in commercial buildings. At Phoenix Power Stone, we fabricate stone stair treads, risers, and complete staircase systems from granite and marble to your exact specifications.

Every stair component is cut, calibrated, edge-profiled, and surface-finished in our 108,000 sqft factory. We can match existing stone colors for renovation projects or supply complete staircase packages for new construction.

Stair Component Types

Stair Treads (Steps)

The horizontal walking surface. Treads must be thick enough to span the stair width without reinforcement, and the surface finish must provide adequate slip resistance for the application. Standard thickness: 2cm for interior residential, 3cm for commercial/public buildings.

Stair Risers

The vertical face between treads. Risers can be matching stone, contrasting stone, or a different material entirely. Standard thickness: 2cm. Height is typically 15-17cm per local building code.

Landing Slabs

Large format slabs for stair landings and intermediate platforms. Typically 2-3cm thickness, cut to exact site dimensions.

Skirtings / Stringers

The side trim pieces that frame the staircase against the wall. Cut to match the stair profile.

Material Recommendations

• Granite stairs (outdoor/commercial): G654, G684, G603 — excellent slip resistance when flamed, virtually indestructible. Ideal for exterior entry stairs, public buildings, fire escapes.
• Granite stairs (indoor residential): Absolute Black, Maple Red, River White — polished finish for elegant interiors with good durability.
• Marble stairs (indoor luxury): Calacatta White, Panda White, Star White — polished or honed. Maximum visual impact for grand entrances. Requires more maintenance than granite.

Measurement Guidelines for Ordering

When requesting a quote, provide these measurements for accurate pricing:

1. Number of steps — Total count of treads and risers
2. Tread dimensions — Length (left-to-right) × width (front-to-back depth) × thickness
3. Riser dimensions — Length × height × thickness
4. Edge profile — Which profile, and on which edge(s)
5. Surface finish — Polished / honed / flamed / bush-hammered
6. Landing pieces — Quantity and dimensions of any landing slabs

We recommend ordering 5-8% extra material for cuts, waste, and future repairs — stone color batches vary, and matching later is difficult.
